For a period of time, I made a number of this Messenger Bag for my craft market. I usually used denim or tweed to make the bag. For the pattern, I chose an Ikea fabric. The original Ikea fabric I chose was an orange one which I far preferred but I didn't have enough fabric for the numerous re-shoots I had to take. Finally I bought loads of this flower-flower Ikea fabric. I forgot to mention this pattern was a result of a request from a customer. Those were the days when I took requests...
This pattern is a skill building pattern. I don't recommend it as a first bag to make. Maybe make a number of easier smaller bags before you try this one.
